I was born a cheese head but have since moved a-whey
But the delicacy called cheese curds I still crave every day
From Montana and Nebraska to Washington state
Not one tasty curd has been found to this date
So when yearly I trek back to my old home - the Midwest
I eagerly search for the squeaky little treats we like best
And when I return several pounds of curds I do carry
Saving a whole bag for the big boss, a fellow cheese head named Jerry

I remember my first curd
Like my mom remembers my very first word.
It was AWESOME!
So much better then possum.
Curds are the best in the world!

the cheese is yellow just like the sun,
the taste is delicious, number one,
the sound is sizzling like an egg in a pan,
the texture is gooy, just like cheese in a can,
except better.

Southward they came, like riders of yore
full of courage & fury & lust for the fight
the badgers were awesome & mean to the core
the illini quaked at their power and might
Red-robed and brave, heroic and sound:
not a man among them wavered or cried.
Fearless, they were, with courage profound
"On Wisconsin!"-we will not be denied!!
Kickoff approached & Bielema implored them:
"Rope them & tie them & kick them & gore them!"
Clever Zook would not be undone,
and this is how the battle was won:
limburger toast as a mid-morning snack,
was enough to repel the badger attack!

Some might find them absurd,
Others may never have heard,
But when they are eaten,
they cannot be beaten,
The scrumptious Wisconsin Cheese curd.

I currently live west of Boston
But I love to travel to Mauston
Where I eat aged cheddar
--The older the better--
And enough curds to get myself lost in!

In Two Rivers as a young boy
I had the great luck to enjoy
Wisconsin’s great cheeses
From towns with sweet breezes
Lake Michigan to the St. Croix
But now I live far, far away
So to keep my cheese cravings at bay
Online I request
Swiss Colony’s best
And Wisconsin Cheese Man’s, night and day

As someone who doesn't eat meat,
I think it exceptionally sweet:
Wisconsinite herds
Are used to make curds,
A rare and delectable treat.
But the curds that we get here are cold.
In the Chilled Deli Section they're sold.
A fix you can try:
Nuke eight seconds, on "high,"
And the squeak comes right back, good as gold

In Michigan cheese curds are rare
So we go to Wisconsin, and there
We fill up our tummies
With tons of those yummies
And bring what we can back to share
